How to Care for a Leather Bag
Top-grain leather develops character through use. A light, consistent routine is usually more helpful than frequent intensive cleaning.
After everyday use
Empty loose debris and wipe the exterior gently with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Avoid household cleaners, alcohol wipes and products containing bleach or strong solvents. They can remove finish unevenly or change the colour of the leather.
If the bag gets wet
Blot moisture promptly without rubbing. Let the bag dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, hair dryers and direct sunlight. Keep the bag in its natural shape while it dries and avoid storing it until the leather and lining are fully dry.
Condition sparingly
Use only a conditioner intended for finished leather. Test it first on a small, inconspicuous area and allow the test spot to dry before treating a wider surface. Apply a thin, even layer; too much product can darken the leather or leave residue.
Store with breathing room
Store the bag in a breathable dust bag rather than sealed plastic. Lightly fill the interior with clean, colourfast tissue to support the silhouette without stretching it. Keep hardware from pressing into the leather, and choose a cool, dry place away from prolonged sunlight.
